What a Week(end)!!!!
The style shoot on Thursday was fabulous!!! DreamShots Photography set the shoot up for Unique Occasions at the Rock House. We had Tri County Rentals, Danielle M. Baker, Renee Burroughs Designs, Holly's Cakes, DJJB (Thanks for the dances!!!), Keturah Ament (awesome massage), and Pametto Pouts ( we got a lot of compliments!) working on this project. The venue is beautiful by itself but when you add all the "extra touches", it becomes magical! It is amazing how gorgeous floral arrangements can take pretty and make it amazing! Everyone looked beautiful and had fun. The cupcakes were amazing!!! It was an experience I will never forget! Friday we were at the Peace Center with Liquid Catering. What a great group of people! They are professional, hard-working, and welcoming! Saturday I witnessed Renee Burroughs transform a wedding site into perfection! She has amazing vision and puts everything she has into making a couple's day exactly what they wanted! The weekend was finished off with a Bride and Groom meeting. The last month before the wedding is where the couple needs to lean on their planner! There are so many small details that can add stress to the couple that the planner can easily handle. I am thankful this couple has relied on Creating Your Moments! Be sure to follow our Facebook page for the full style shoot album! Here are a couple fun pictures DreamShots took of me goofing around for the camera. They turned out very cute!

As this rejuvenating time comes to a close, we are excited to get to work! Be on the lookout for great things happening with Creating Your Moments. We have beautiful brides, handsome grooms, and wonderful vendors to work with! Check out our website at www.creatingyourmoments.com for any of your wedding or event planning needs.

RSVP ~ Why is it important?
R.S.V.P. stands for répondez s'il vous plaît, a french translation of please respond. This term is politely asking you to reply your intentions toward the event regardless if you are attending or not. If the invitation specifies "regrets only", then you are only obligated to respond if you are unable to attend. The host will assume you will be there if they have not heard from you. Why is this important? When reserving venues, caterers, or seating; the first question they ask is how many guests? There is nothing worse for a host than to not have enough comfort for their guests. Whether it is something to eat or somewhere to sit, if it is not available someone is uncomfortable. The most polite thing an invited guest can do is respond quickly and follow through with the response. If your situation changes from "yes" to "no", let your host know immediately. If you are able to attend after responding "no", it is polite to ask the host if you may attend and not to take it personally if your seat has been filled. If you are unsure, it is acceptable to let them know that you will respond as soon as possible. For an event such as a wedding, the couple will assume you are not attending if they have not heard from you two weeks out. Here are some other things to consider:
- Do not bring a guest unless your invitation says "and guest".
- Include yourself when giving total count in your party attending.
- Respond to request how it was sent out unless otherwise directed. If invited by mail, respond by mail. If invited by email, respond by email.
- Do not be afraid to ask for clarification of an invitation but do not be offended if the answer is not what you wanted to hear. The host would love to invite everyone they know, but without unlimited resources, they may not be able to.
I am admitting I have not been the best at sending my RSVP, but after researching this, I will make a point of responding!!

Real Wedding ~ Sue and Norm
Yesterday was a beautiful day in South Carolina! The day started off early as Danielle Baker and I headed up the mountain to Pretty Place. The name says it all! Located in the middle of North and South Carolina the view is breath-taking.
I assisted Danielle in the wedding of Sue and Norm. Their wedding was so moving I found myself tearing up and I had only known them for an hour. With that amount of emotion between them, I can only imagine how their family felt witnessing the ceremony! Their story is amazing!!! The song they chose to walk down the isle together was perfect! I adore how Danielle custom tailors the wedding to the couple. I am so thankful to Sue and Norm for allowing me to join in their celebration! I am truly honored and blessed to have been there. Wishing them a lifetime of love! You can check out the full wedding gallery of Sue and Norm captured by Sarah Holder at https://www.facebook.com/sarahholderphotography. Be sure to visit www.creatingyourmoments.com for contact information!

Building a business
I have spent the last couple days signing up for sites to add to Creating Your Moments! This morning I completely redesigned the website. We are now on twitter and pinterest!!! We have always been on facebook so that is not a "new"addition! I have been on pinterest for awhile as Jessica, but I felt it was a good idea for CYM to have one that brides can go to and get inspiration! Pinterest takes the place of ripping pages out of a magazine and toting them around in a binder! Please take a minute to follow me on these sites as I hope to entertain and give you ideas for your events!!! Thank you all for your continued support! Please keep me in mind if you or anyone you know has a wedding coming up!

Engagement Session
I spent yesterday afternoon with Brad and Jennifer at Tyger Pines for their engagement photo shoot! We first saw the property last winter when everything was frozen. It was beautiful then, but I was not prepared to see it in full bloom. It took my breath away!!! April and James from Simply Violet were absolutely amazing!!! The thought process they go through figuring out locations, where the light would hit, and how the couple should pose is inspired. These pictures will be BEAUTIFUL!!! The amount of love the couple showed always reminds me why I am in the wedding business. I love my job!!! You can visit Simply Violet's website at http://www.simplyvioletphotography.com.

What chic are you?
There are many themes you can incorporate into your wedding. The most popular ones seem to be the chic themes. What exactly is the difference? Here is my best effort to differentiate them.
Shabby chic:
From what I can tell all chic themes started here. It is a home decor that found its way into wedding themes. Shabby chic is very vintage. It is elegant, lacy, and a lot of flowers! You would use a lot of birdcages, suitcases, and china items.

Rustic chic:
Rustic chic is also vintage. In the rustic theme you would see a lot of wood, mason jars, and burlap. Keep in mind...this is still an elegant theme. Items that would complete this look would be an old plated window with chipped paint and maybe a few hay bales to sit on. This is mixed with very formal tableware and higher end floral arrangements.

Country chic:
County chic is very similar to rustic chic as it uses the same wood and mason jar feeling. The differences will be found in the small details. The bride may wear cowboy boots instead of heels. The flowers may be wild flowers instead of roses and lilies. The symbols may be horseshoes instead of monograms. This theme has also been called Southern chic. Make no mistake about this theme...it is just as elegant as the others. I love the chic themes! It was great fun researching the difference! I hope this helps when deciding what chic you are!! Happy planning!!!!

Let them eat (cup)cakes!
Today we went cupcake testing!!! Rough career choice, right? We met with two wonderful vendors and had a great day of testing the BEST cupcakes in the upstate! I am not sure how the couple will narrow it down to only 4 flavors!!! The best part was none of us thought to eat "real" food before we started at 10a.m.!!!
You can imagine the tummies after the second stop! Check out the deliciousness below!!!

I am a certified wedding planner!!!
I completed my wedding planning course last night from Greenville Tech!!!! I will miss that class as the instructor was such a joy to learn from! I also started my vendor meetings yesterday! Yes, it was a busy day...I met with a wedding cake vendor and I LOVED her!!! They are so kind and caring and I hope to work with them a lot in the future. She has the best fondant I have ever tasted. It did not smell or taste like play-doh. I am wondering if I can make it mandatory that I have to go to all of the cake testings...hmmmm. There are many more vendors to meet with and I am so excited to meet each one of them! Stay posted....

School
I have been taking the class at Greenville Tech for the last 4 weeks. I could talk to the instructor for hours! Of course, so could everyone else in the class! We have met vendors, visited sites, and learned so much in such a short time. The most value, I believe, is her stories of weddings she has dealt with. I am spending time soaking in what anyone has to say about the industry! What a wonderful and exciting line of work! I will be sad when the class is over, but I am so excited to forge ahead in this path!!!

The Couple
I have a fabulous opportunity in this journey! There is this amazing couple that is letting me assist them in planning their wedding from beginning to end!!!! This experience is a dream. We have looked at venues, caterers, dj's, and photographers. There is more to do but I have loved every minute of it! This wedding is going to be beautiful and mostly because of the couple that is getting married! They are such a joy to work with and I am thrilled they have allowed me to do this!
I have met the most wonderful people in this process! The wedding community is such a happy place to work in! They are so helpful and encouraging! I wish everyone could love their job as much as I do!
